I was moved by and very pleased to see The New York Times’ recent profiles on people with mental illnesses written by Benedict Carey. The first, “Expert on Mental Illness Reveals her Own Fight,” on June 23rd, and the second , “Learning To Cope With A Mind’s Taunting Voices,” on August 7th, both take us inside the experiences of two individuals with mental illness. They are powerful, intimate, inspiring portraits that use personal story and individual experience, as HERE ONE DAYwill do, to shatter taboos and reduce stigma. Both New York Times profiles illustrate the humanity and incredible strength and courage of these individuals to live fulfilling lives and help others in the process. Amazing. Please read them and forward the links. Lets spread these stories far and wide.
